Liebe Freund:innen, Aktivist:innen, Initiativen, Gruppen und Organisationen,
wir sind das Bündnis gegen das neue Versammlungsgesetz (noversgsax), welches in Sachsen zum 1. September in Kraft treten soll. Seit Anfang des Jahres stehen wir als verschiedene Gruppen und Organisationen in Sachsen in Kontakt, um uns über Handlungsoptionen auszutauschen, damit dieses neue Gesetz nicht stillschweigend und ohne Widerspruch über die Bühne geht. Das neue Versammlungsgesetz beinhaltet gravierende Einschnitte in unsere Rechte. Es soll Gegenprotest und Blockaden erschweren, die Datensammlung von Ordner:innen und Demonstrationsteilnehmenden ausweiten oder bestimmtes Auftreten auf Demonstrationen (z.B. einheitliche Kleidung) verbieten. Auffallend an dem Entwurf ist außerdem, dass viele Regelungen bewusst schwammig gehalten werden und somit einer massiven Willkür in der Anwendung und Interpretation unterliegen. So sollen bestimmte „Verhaltensweisen“ untersagt werden können ohne genauere Bestimmung und beliebige Gegenstände können von den Behörden als „Bewaffnung“ umdefiniert werden.
Die Verschärfung von diesen Gesetzen ist kein Zufall, sondern hat Kontinuität und passt zur aktuellen politischen Situation in Deutschland. Gerade in Hinblick auf die kommenden Landtagswahlen und die zunehmende Faschisierung sollte uns bewusst sein, was herrschende Politiker:innen und Behörden wie die Polizei mit solchen neuen Gesetzen alles anstellen können. Sie richten sich in erster Linie immer gegen fortschrittliche, linke, demokratische, internationalistische, gewerkschaftliche, revolutionäre Kräfte, um Proteste zu erschweren oder gar ganz zu unterbinden. Auch, dass das neue Versammlungsgesetz genau am Tag der Landtagswahlen in Kraft treten soll, ist hierbei kein Zufall.

Dear friends, activists, initiatives, groups and organizations,
We are the coalition against the new public assembly law (noversgsax), which is scheduled to take effect in Saxony on September 1. We have been in contact with various groups and organizations in Saxony since the beginning of the year to discuss options for action so that this new law does not pass quietly and without resistance. The new assembly law contains serious infringements of our rights. It is intended to make counter-protests and blockades more difficult, expand the collection of data on organizers and participants in demonstrations and ban certain forms of appearance at demonstrations (e.g. uniform clothing). What is also striking about the draft is that many regulations are kept intentionally vague and are therefore open to considerable flexibility in their application and interpretation. For example, certain „behaviors“ may be forbidden without a more specific definition and any objects may be redefined by the authorities as „weapons“.
The tightening of these laws is no coincidence, but rather has continuity and fits in with the current political situation in Germany. Especially in view of the upcoming state elections and the increasing trend towards fascism, we should be aware of what ruling politicians and authorities such as the police can do with such new laws. They are always primarily directed against progressive, left-wing, democratic, internationalist, trade unionist and revolutionary forces in order to make protests more difficult or even stop them altogether. It is also no coincidence that the new assembly law is due to come into force on the very day of the state elections.
